ENCLAVE VS TRAVERSE — PERFORMANCE & FUEL ECONOMY

Under the hood of these two SUVs, you're going to find a very similar lineup that offers optimal power and efficiency. Both the Enclave and Traverse are powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. This engine features an innovative stop/start system that improves fuel efficiency by automatically shutting down the engine when at a stop and starting up again when the brake pedal is released.
Each vehicle also comes with a 9-speed transmission, for smooth shifting every time you're behind the wheel. Although the power and drivetrains are the same under the hood, there are some differences when it comes to fuel economy. Though both impressive and leave you filling up less, the Traverse does offer a tad more with an EPA-estimated 18 city/27 highway MPG, while the Enclave offers slightly less with an EPA-estimated 18 city/26 highway MPG.

BUICK ENCLAVE VS CHEVY TRAVERSE — INTERIOR & CARGO SPACE

SUVs mean more room inside, and both the Enclave and Traverse prove that to be true. However, when it comes to the cabin, the space is set up a little differently.
The Enclave can seat up to seven passengers and allows for plenty of room to get cozy. It features a headroom in the front of 41 inches and 37.6 inches in the back, as well as 41.2 inches of front legroom and 33.5 inches in the rear. It also includes a configurable cargo space of 23.6 cubic feet behind the third row and up to 58 cubic feet behind the second row of seats.
In the Chevy Traverse, you will be able to seat up to eight inside, including a headroom of 41.3 inches in the front and a rear headspace of 38.2 inches. When it comes to room for your legs, you will be met with 41 inches in the front and 33.5 inches for backseat passengers. Additionally, cargo room measures in at 23 cubic feet when all of the seats are upright and 57.8 cubic feet when the third row is folded flat.
Simply put, if you're looking for an SUV with more cargo space and legroom, opt for the 2019 Buick Enclave. If more seating and headroom meet your needs, then the 2019 Chevy Traverse is the way to go.
