Chevy Silverado 1500 vs RAM 1500

CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 VS RAM 1500

It's a battle of the trucks near Kingfisher, Dover, and Oklahoma City! The Chevy Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500 are typically compared against one another since they can haul over 12,000 pounds, but which one can you count on to get the job done?

Jacksons Chevrolet Buick GMC wants to help you answer this question, so we put together this comparison. Read on to see whether the Silverado 1500 or Ram 1500 will come out on top!

CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 VS RAM 1500: ENGINE OPTIONS

When it comes to selecting your next pickup, you'll want a lot of options so you can customize your truck to your liking. With six engine options, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has plenty to offer you, including a diesel engine with a commanding mix of power and fuel economy that allows you to travel more miles per gallon.

Unfortunately, the Ram 1500 isn't as varied with only three engine options, none of which are diesel. This smaller selection may put limits on finding the right blend of efficiency, pulling power, and performance you need to tackle your worksite demands.

Additionally, the Silverado 1500 has an available 10-speed automatic transmission for smoother and quicker changes. You may notice a difference in the way these trucks perform on the open road, though, since the Ram 1500 only offers an 8-speed automatic transmission.

CARRY YOUR CARGO WITH EASE

To give you a hand on your next project, the Chevy Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500 can take on a maximum payload of over 2,000 pounds when properly equipped. Therefore, either of these trucks will be able to haul around your bulky equipment, supplies, and tools. However, their cargo similarities end here.

Once again, the Silverado 1500 has more selections with three cab and bed options, while the Ram 1500 only has two. In the Silverado, the additional long bed option helps the truck have a greater maximum cargo bed length of 98.1 inches. At a maximum of 76.3 inches long, the Ram 1500 may not be able to fit longer items, like plywood and drywall.

CRUISE AROUND SAFELY

Keep your eyes on the road thanks to the expansive touchscreen displays in these trucks. Their high-tech graphics enhance usability so you can easily select your desired entertainment while powering down the highway on the way to your worksite.

However, the Chevy Silverado 1500 takes visibility one step further with an available Head-Up Display. This advanced system projects key driving data, like current speed, navigational instructions, and equipped active safety alerts directly onto the windshield ahead of you.

Since this system is not available in the Ram 1500, you'll have to tear your eyes off the fast-moving highway in order to access this vital information.

AND THE WINNER IS…

The competition was close, but the clear winner is the Chevy Silverado 1500. With more engine and cargo bed options along with more advanced technology, the Silverado 1500 has more to offer drivers in Kingfisher, Dover, and Oklahoma City than the Ram 1500.
